Cujo (1983)

My Rating: 7.5/10

Cujo was probably one of the greatest films that I liked when I was growing up. The creativity that they did in the movie was outstanding. I mean to use a dog as the killer in the film is a way big task to handle when your directing a movie. But Cujo pulled it off! Cujo was directed by Lewis Teague. The man who also directed Cat's Eye. Cujo was also a novel by Stephen King. Cujo is about Donna Trenton who is a frustrated suburban housewife whose life is a turmoil after her husband learns about her having an affair. Brett Camber is a young boy whose only companion is a Saint-Bernard named "Cujo", who in turn is bitten by a rabid bat. Whilst Vic, Donna's husband is away on business, and thinking over his marital troubles, Donna and her 5-year-old son Tad take her Pinto to Brett Cambers' dad's car shop... the car fails, and "Cujo" is very, very sick.

Most of all the scenes in Cujo were in a car. But it's survival for the Mom and her Son in the car and Cujo wants them both dead. So one of the scenes from Cujo that scared the hell out of me was when the Mom was trying to get out of the car and her son's seatbelt wouldn't come out and she tries to get it and the window is rolled down and Cujo pops through the window in the car and is clawing at the Mother and the Son.

So in the end Cujo is a bloody mess and eventually the Mother and the Son get out of the car and go into a house and Cujo follows them into the house and the Mother shoots Cujo with a police gun and Cujo dies. But you don't see the dog dead, the Mother and Son walk out of the house beaten up and the Father comes along with his car and he goes up to check on the both of them and it rolls to the credits.
Cujo won a couple of awards such as 1 win & 3 nominations, and it also got #58 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

An American Werewolf In London (1981)

An American Werewolf In London is one of those comical horror films that I enjoy the most! It was directed by John Landis, Landis tried to make An American Werewolf In London very bloody, gory and scary but, also he made it really funny as well. An American Werewolf In London is about two American students are on a walking tour of England and are attacked by a Werewolf. One is killed, the other is mauled. The Werewolf is killed, but reverts to it's human form, and the townspeople are able to deny it's existence. The surviving student begins to have nightmares of hunting on 4 feet at first, but then finds that his friend and other recent victims appear to him, demanding that he find a way to die to release them from their curse, being trapped between worlds because of their unnatural death.

An American Werewolf In London had some scenes that were funny, scenes that were scary, and scenes that were just plainly disgusting. Theres this one scene were David is lying down in his hospital bed and the nurse goes to look at him and David turns into this freakish looking zombie werewolf with yellow eyes and pale blue skin. It caught me be surprise and scared me. Theres also another scene were David is looking at his breakfast meal and looks back at his pal Jack who is already dead and he asks for a piece of David's toast.

There was the best scene in the whole film of An American Werewolf In London and that is when there is a full moon out and David starts his transformation from turning from a human to a werewolf. It is so crazy and you have to feel sorry for David while he is turning to a werewolf because he can't control himself. The transformation was done very well and it looked so realistic.

The ending scene in An American Werewolf In London is awesome. It starts off with David returning into his state of being a werewolf and he is in a porn theater and he starts to kill and murder people that are in the theater. Meanwhile police show up and there trying to keep the huge door closed for the werewolf until he busts open the door and causes a rampage. People are getting hit by cars and cars are crashing into buses and it is just pandemonium. Until in the end the Nurse who took care of David goes to the werewolf know as David and she tells him that he loves him and he can get help. Suddenly he screams and shouts and he gets shot by the police and turns back to a human while he is dead. The Nurse whos named Alex starts to cry and they cut to credits. It was a great scene to end the film.

The Shining (1980)

My Rating: 9.5/10

The Shining I think was a terrific horror thriller. It was directed by the man who made A Clockwork Orange, and that man is Stanley Kubrick. Stanley Kubrick's The Shining was a great 80s horror movie only because the scenes in The Shining were absolutely horrifying. The Shining is about a man named Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) who becomes the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel up in the secluded mountains of Colorado. Jack, being a family man, takes his wife and son to the hotel to keep him company throughout the long and isolated nights. During their stay strange things occur when Jack's son Danny sees gruesome images powered by a force called "The Shining" and Jack is heavily affected by this. Along with writer's block and the demons of the hotel haunting him Jack has a complete mental breakdown and the situation takes a sinister turn for the worse.

Some of The Shining's scenes made me terrified. There were a lot of scenes that I can remember, such as The Twins in the hallway wanting to play with Danny. Also there was a scene when Jack goes to the bathroom and there is a naked lady in there and Jack makes love with her until she turns into this old lady with green puss coming out of her skin. There was also a scene that disturbed me the most in the Shining and that was when Wendy was going up the stairs and she sees two men in a room performing some sexual content and this one guy was in a bear suit. So I don't know it was fucking weird but, still it creeped me the hell out! There was also the famous Red Rum scene and the Dull Boy scene. Beyond those scenes was also the greatest scene in the whole film and that was where Jack gets a axe and starts chopping down the door and says to Wendy "HERE'S JOHNNY!".

Tbe ending scene for The Shining was absolutely phenomenal. In the end Jack chases Danny through this grass field maze outside while it's snowing out and Danny tricks Jack by disappearing his foot steps in the snow to make Jack run around and get tired. While Danny escapes the maze and leaves with Wendy and they ride away with a snow plower leaving Jack to be trapped in the maze until he passes out and freezes to death.

Don't Look Now (1973)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My Rating: 7.5/10

Don't Look Now is one of those 70s horror movies that leaves you completely confused in the end of the movie. Don't Look Now was directed by Nicolas Roeg. It was Roeg's first ever horror movie directing and he did the film in such a fancy old English type of atmosphere. It also has nice peaceful music in the movie. Also it has strange and freaky music as well. Don't Look Now is about a grieving English couple to Venice, where the past continues to plague them. John Baxter (Donald Sutherland) and his wife Laura (Julie Christie) are in mourning for their young daughter, who drownedtragically near their home. John takes a job in Venice so that the couple can leave the past behind, but, unfortunately, the past is not easily forgotten. While John begins to see unsettling visions of a young girl in a red coat running through the Venice streets, Laura learns from an elderly psychic that her husband is in grave danger. What follows is an eerie, erotic mystery that builds to a shockingly horrific climax.

Don't Look Now had a lot of mysterious and scary scenes in the film such as when the Baxter's daughter Christine drowns herself in a pond and John Baxter pulls her out but, she is already dead. There was also the biggest scene in the whole movie of Don't Look Now and thats when John Baxter chases down a mysterious thing in a light red raincoat. Just like the same red raincoat his daughter wore before she died. Finally when John Baxter reaches up to the mysterious thing in his daughter's raincoat where there in this tower like building but, you don't see what it is because it's back is turned and John Baxter tries to tell it that He won't hurt it and he says come on until finally the thing turns around. It appears to be a dwarf!
Then finally the dwarf pulls out a knife and stabs John in the neck, and John collapses on the floor and dies. It was a brilliant scene to end the entire film!

Don't Look Now won a BAFTA Film Award, and another 8 nominations. It also got #22 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. Don't Look Now will always be a masterpiece in the history of Horror Movies!

Misery (1990)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My Rating: 8/10

Misery was one of Rob Reiner's greatest movies hes ever directed. It was probably his only horror movie he directed. Misery is about a Romance author Paul Sheldon (James Caan) longs for parting with Misery. Sheldon’s plucky heroine of seven novels has delivered Sheldon fame and fortune and recognition beyond the average writer’s dreams, but she is also interminably linked to him. Determined to escape an eternal role as dimestore novelist, he kills her off in the eighth novel and heads to his New England cabin to work on his own Great American Novel. Upon completion, Sheldon excitedly sets out for his New York City publisher in the midst of a raging blizzard and within minutes veers into a desolate snowbank. From the brink of death, he is rescued from the snow by Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates), who just so happens to be Misery’s self-professed biggest fan. At first, she nurses him back to health in her remote cabin, telling him the roads and phones are knocked out by the storm, fawning over his literary accomplishments. However, things change when she purchases his eighth Misery book and reaches the point of Misery's death. Annie’s psychotic underbelly swiftly surfaces as the unfortunate author is held clandestinely captive in her home. Meanwhile, a wily small-town sheriff (Richard Farnsworth) circles in.

Now lets talk about the scenes in the movie. There was alot of good scenes in Misery but one I remember that will always be in my mind forever is the hobbling scene. Where Kathy Bates ties James Caan to the hospital bed and Kathy puts a block of wood between Caan's feet and grabs a sledge hammer and whacks both of Jame's feet. It is so hard to watch that scene because James Caan's foot swings like a door when Kathy Bates hits it.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My Rating: 9/10

A Clockwork Orange was a great 70s movie. It was Directed by Stanley Kubrick, The man who directed the great horror thriller "The Shining". A Clockwork Orange wasn't such a horror movie, it was more like a Psychedelic movie. The plot of the movie is about in a futuristic Britain, a gang of teenagers go on the rampage every night, beating and raping helpless victims. After one of the boys quells an uprising in the gang, they knock him out and leave him for the police to find. He agrees to try "aversion therapy" to shorten his jail sentence. When he is eventually let out, he hates violence, but the rest of his gang members are still after him.

I really liked A Clockwork Orange. The first time watching it, I had no idea what was going on but, it was so stylish in a way that I could not stop watching it. I was hooked on this movie like glue. There were alot of scenes that were done very well and I enjoyed watching them all.

Last House On The Left (1972), The Exorcist (1973), Black Christmas (1974)

Here is my three movie review on a couple 1970 horror movies. I will be doing, The Last House On The Left, The Exorcist, and Black Christmas. All three movies going through 1972-1974.

Last House On The Left (1972)
My Rating: 8.5/10.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Last House On The Left was Wes Craven's Directorial Debut. The title of the film was originally suppose to be called "A Night Of Vengeance" but no. The reason why they changed the title was because of the people didn't really by into the movie so they didn't see it. So Wes and Sean Cunningham decided to call it "Sex Crime Of The Century" but again no attention to any of these titles. So someone that was Sean Cunningham's friend decided to call the title "The Last House On The Left". So they did and made alittle tagline that says "To Avoid Fainting Keep Repeating, It's Only A Movie and people started to draw attention and were hooked. Now anyway just to give a little bio of the film now I can say the plot was about 17-year-old Mari going out to to see a concert with a friend named Phyllis. On the way they encounter a group of murderers and are abducted by them, what follows is the horrific sexual abuse, torture and murder of the two girls. After the killers murder the two girls they take shelter in a house owned by a married couple not knowing that they are the parents of Mari, when the parents find out what the killers have done, they carry out a horrible, gruesome revenge. There were alot of bloopers and fuck ups in the film like when Phyllis spits in Weasels face and before Phyllis even spits on Weasel he closes his eyes a little bit to early. Also when the Parent's of Mari find out the killers killed their daughter they go out to search for her, and when they find her shes lying in the grass still moving when shes suppose to be dead because Krug, Weasel, and Sadie stabs the shit out of Phyllis and then shoots Mari in the lake with a hand gun not once, not twice but, three fucking times! So if shes suppose to be dead why is she on the ground moving when she should be killed in the lake sinking. So I don't know this movie is fucked up but good. I really like it.

I like how the killers can act all comical in the film but when they get confronted, your ass dead. Some of the scenes were to brutally and sexual to discuss. Like Rape and Murder scenes and all that other shit. Last House On The Left was banned in 24 countries all around the world and some people really despised it and hated it, but the crazy ones like myself actually thought it was a very brutal enough to be called a horror movie. It also got #50 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

The Exorcist (1973)
My Rating: 10/10 (Excellent).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Exorcist was no doubt won of the greatest, scariest, and classical horror movie ever in history. Just the way the movie goes, it is just freaks you the fuck out. Like sometimes the film surprises me at a scenes because when I at least except it, it scares the shit out of me. I've heard that people had so many nightmares about The Exorcist. It's just perfectly outstanding if I do say so myself.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Well in The Exorcist there was two versions, The Orignal Version and The Version that is Uncut and never before seen. Now the difference between both versions is that there was a scene that was cut out of the Orignal version. That scene was when Regan is walking backwards on all fours like a dog walking down the steps like really fast and blood comes out of here mouth when shes upside down. That scene is so fucked up, I can't really imagine anything like that. Also that demon, which you get to know his name in The Exorcist 2: The Heretic. Well his names Bazoozoo and he seems to pop up at times when you never really except it to happen. The plot of the movie is A visiting actress in Washington, D.C., notices dramatic and dangerous changes in the behavior and physical make-up of her 12-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, a young priest at nearby Georgetown University begins to doubt his faith while dealing with his mother's terminal sickness. And, book-ending the story, a frail, elderly priest recognizes the necessity for a show-down with an old demonic enemy. This movie deserves to be called the best horror movie ever!! It has won 2 Oscars, another 12 wins & 14 nominations. It also got #3 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

Black Christmas (1974)
My Rating: 7.5/10

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I thought Black Christmas was a well deserved average great classic horror movie. I mean it gave an great idea to do "When A Stranger Calls". It was a great idea because When A Stranger Calls came out in 1979 they definitely got the idea from Black Christmas, no doubt about that. Like when Jessica gets obscene phone calls from the killer and the phone company tells her that the calls are coming from inside of the house. So yeah, they had to have gotten an idea off of Black Christmas to do When A Stranger Calls. Well theres two things that sucked really bad about Black Christmas.

1. You never got to know who the killer was. Only you can see is his shadow, eyes, and they do show a little peek of him but fuck it, hes in the dark and alls you can see is his eyes and hair. I have photo of the killer:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
and why does the killer say Billy. In fact at the end of the film he says "It's me Billy". I'm wondering to myself "who the fuck is billy?" There is nobody in the film named Billy but I don't know, who ever the killer he makes the most obscene noises ever.

2. Well there was a remake and instead of calling it Black Christmas, they call it Black Xmas...what the fuck is that shit. I haven't seen it but on IMDB it says theres someone named Billy, so I guess it's a follow up. So if it's a follow up why didn't they fucking make it a sequel for fuck sake. It should of been Black Christmas 2, I would of accepted that instead of Black Xmas.

The plot of the film is right before Christmas break, an unseen psycho sneaks into the attic of a Canadian sorority house, menacing the girls with obscene phone calls, and starts to kill them one by one. Black Christmas has won 2 Oscar wins & 2 nominations. It also got #87 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. So the movie was overall awesome to call a real horror movie.
