Ichi The Killer (2001)
My Rating 8.5/10
Ichi The Killer was probably the greatest Gore Film ever made. It was directed by Takashi Miike. The same director who made Audition. Ichi The Killer in Japan is originally callled "Koroshiya 1". But in USA they called "Ichi The Killer". Anyway, Ichi The Killer is about a Yakuza boss named Anjo disappears with 300 million yen, his chief henchman, a sadomasochistic man named Kakihara, and the rest of his mob goons go looking for him. After capturing and torturing a rival Yakuza member looking for answers, they soon realize they have the wrong man and begin looking for the man named Jijii who tipped them off in the first place. Soon enough Kakihara and his men encounter Ichi, a psychotic, sexually-repressed young man with amazing martial arts abilities and blades that come out of his shoes. One by one Ichi takes out members of the Yakuza and all the while Kakihara intensifies his pursuit of Ichi and Ichi's controller Jijii. What will happen as the final showdown happens between the tortured and ultra-violent Ichi and the pain-craving Kakihara?
There was so many disturbing and nasty scenes in Ichi The Killer, where do I begin? Well when Kakihara puts this man in a torture chamber and he has this guy hanging on chains while Kakihara puts hot boiling water on the guys back. Also when Karkihara cuts his tongue off his a knife. I mean they did the same thing on Oldboy, but unlike Oldboy they actually show Kakihara cuting his tongue off. And then later on when Kakihara stitches his tongue up, how gross is that? There is also a scene where Ichi cuts this guy in two halfs and he splits in to two separate pieces. Another scene is where at the end Kakihara and Ichi are battling on the top of some building and Ichi's long lost brother Jijii shoots Ichi's foot and Ichi slices Jijii's neck. While then, Kakihara put his two knifes into his ear to kill his hearing. And Ichi puts his shoe blade into Kakihara's head and kicks Kakihara while Kakihara does a backflip and lands on a pole but then falls and loses his balance and falls off the building. Kakihara then is laying on the ground a bloody mess.
Ichi The Killer won 6 wins & 1 nomination. It was truly the most disgusting movie of the century.

Oldboy (2003)
My Rating: 9/10
Oldboy was a South Korea film directed by Chan-wook Park. Oldboy was an outstanding in my own opinion. After seeing Audition you think what film can topple over Audition. Well Oldboy seems to be that movie that did. Oldboy is about A man named Oh Dae-su who is an average man and then he is kidnapped and imprisoned in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. He then is released, equipped with money, a cellphone and expensive clothes. As he strives to explain his imprisonment and get his revenge, he soon finds out that not only his kidnapper has still plans for him, but that those plans will serve as the even worse finale to 15 years of imprisonment.
After watching Oldboy you were blown away by all the great scenes that tooked place in the film. Such as when Dae-su comes out of a building and a woman yells to a police officer to stop Dae-su and out of know where a guy from a building commits suicide off the building while he crashes through a car while holding his dog. It is so brutal and it totally caught me by surprise. Another painful scene is where Dae-su is wrenching some guy's teeth out with the end of a hammer. Speaking of hammer, the greatest scene of all in Oldboy was the Fight Scene where Dae-su attacks all these guards with a hammer. It was one of the greatest fighting scenes I've ever seen. Another scene is the Tongue cutting scene, where Dae-su cuts his tongue for forgiveness.
Oldboy won 16 wins & 10 nominations. It also received #5 for Bravo's 30 Even Scarier Movie Moments. To leave off with my Oldboy review I have a few words, Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone.

Zombie (1979)
My Rating 6/10
Zombie was a Italian style horror film. Zombie was directed by Lucio Fulci, Lucio was a Italian director. When he made Zombie there were a few difficulties with the films title. Zombie is actually know as it's original title "Zombi 2". The reason why it was called Zombi 2 was because George A. Romero's Dawn Of The Dead was originally called "Zombie: Dawn Of The Dead" in the UK. So basically what had happened was that Zombi 2 couldn't steal the same title as Romero's Dawn Of The Dead known as Zombie in the UK. So they just call it Zombi 2. Why leave the E out in Zombie, I have no idea. Although Zombie also had another title they were going to use which was "Zombie Flesh Eaters". Which would have been a better title then instead of calling it Zombi 2. Well anyway about the film, Zombie is about a sail boat that arrives in New York without a living soul but a zombie that attacks two guards from the Coast Guard. The daughter of the owner of the ship, Anne Bowles (Tisa Farrow), requests information about her missing father that was in the Antilles to the detectives that are investigating the crime without success. She meets the journalist Peter West (Ian McCulloch) and they decide to investigate what might have happened to her father. They travel to Matul Island with Brian Hull (Al Cliver) and Susan Barrett (Auretta Gay) in their boat. Once in the tropical island, they meet Dr. David Menard (Richard Johnson), who is trying to find a cure to a disease that brings dead back to life, turning them into zombies that eat human flesh, increasing the menace against the group.
There were only a couple of awesome scenes in Zombie that I remember and that was one of them were a lady goes deep sea diving near the boat and out of no where a zombie is in the ocean with the girl and the girl escapes and returns to the boat but, the zombie is approached by a shark in the ocean and both the zombie and the shark battle against each other. Both the shark and the zombie are taking bites out of each other. It was really great! Beyond the Shark Vs. Zombie scene there was the most memorable scene in Zombie where a lady is grabbed by a zombie and is forced into a piece of sharp wood and having her eye gouge right into the wood.
Zombie won 1 nomination, It also got #98 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. Zombie will always remain in the greatest gore horror movies of all time.

Cujo (1983)
My Rating: 7.5/10
Cujo was probably one of the greatest films that I liked when I was growing up. The creativity that they did in the movie was outstanding. I mean to use a dog as the killer in the film is a way big task to handle when your directing a movie. But Cujo pulled it off! Cujo was directed by Lewis Teague. The man who also directed Cat's Eye. Cujo was also a novel by Stephen King. Cujo is about Donna Trenton who is a frustrated suburban housewife whose life is a turmoil after her husband learns about her having an affair. Brett Camber is a young boy whose only companion is a Saint-Bernard named "Cujo", who in turn is bitten by a rabid bat. Whilst Vic, Donna's husband is away on business, and thinking over his marital troubles, Donna and her 5-year-old son Tad take her Pinto to Brett Cambers' dad's car shop... the car fails, and "Cujo" is very, very sick.
Most of all the scenes in Cujo were in a car. But it's survival for the Mom and her Son in the car and Cujo wants them both dead. So one of the scenes from Cujo that scared the hell out of me was when the Mom was trying to get out of the car and her son's seatbelt wouldn't come out and she tries to get it and the window is rolled down and Cujo pops through the window in the car and is clawing at the Mother and the Son.
So in the end Cujo is a bloody mess and eventually the Mother and the Son get out of the car and go into a house and Cujo follows them into the house and the Mother shoots Cujo with a police gun and Cujo dies. But you don't see the dog dead, the Mother and Son walk out of the house beaten up and the Father comes along with his car and he goes up to check on the both of them and it rolls to the credits.
Cujo won a couple of awards such as 1 win & 3 nominations, and it also got #58 on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

An American Werewolf In London (1981)
My Rating 8.5/10
An American Werewolf In London is one of those comical horror films that I enjoy the most! It was directed by John Landis, Landis tried to make An American Werewolf In London very bloody, gory and scary but, also he made it really funny as well. An American Werewolf In London is about two American students are on a walking tour of England and are attacked by a Werewolf. One is killed, the other is mauled. The Werewolf is killed, but reverts to it's human form, and the townspeople are able to deny it's existence. The surviving student begins to have nightmares of hunting on 4 feet at first, but then finds that his friend and other recent victims appear to him, demanding that he find a way to die to release them from their curse, being trapped between worlds because of their unnatural death.
An American Werewolf In London had some scenes that were funny, scenes that were scary, and scenes that were just plainly disgusting. Theres this one scene were David is lying down in his hospital bed and the nurse goes to look at him and David turns into this freakish looking zombie werewolf with yellow eyes and pale blue skin. It caught me be surprise and scared me. Theres also another scene were David is looking at his breakfast meal and looks back at his pal Jack who is already dead and he asks for a piece of David's toast.
There was the best scene in the whole film of An American Werewolf In London and that is when there is a full moon out and David starts his transformation from turning from a human to a werewolf. It is so crazy and you have to feel sorry for David while he is turning to a werewolf because he can't control himself. The transformation was done very well and it looked so realistic.
The ending scene in An American Werewolf In London is awesome. It starts off with David returning into his state of being a werewolf and he is in a porn theater and he starts to kill and murder people that are in the theater. Meanwhile police show up and there trying to keep the huge door closed for the werewolf until he busts open the door and causes a rampage. People are getting hit by cars and cars are crashing into buses and it is just pandemonium. Until in the end the Nurse who took care of David goes to the werewolf know as David and she tells him that he loves him and he can get help. Suddenly he screams and shouts and he gets shot by the police and turns back to a human while he is dead. The Nurse whos named Alex starts to cry and they cut to credits. It was a great scene to end the film.
An American Werewolf In London won a few awards such as an Oscar, another 2 wins & 2 nominations. It also got #42 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. An American Werewolf was a great horror flick and will always be remember by people who loved it such as myself.

The Shining (1980)
My Rating: 9.5/10
The Shining I think was a terrific horror thriller. It was directed by the man who made A Clockwork Orange, and that man is Stanley Kubrick. Stanley Kubrick's The Shining was a great 80s horror movie only because the scenes in The Shining were absolutely horrifying. The Shining is about a man named Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) who becomes the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel up in the secluded mountains of Colorado. Jack, being a family man, takes his wife and son to the hotel to keep him company throughout the long and isolated nights. During their stay strange things occur when Jack's son Danny sees gruesome images powered by a force called "The Shining" and Jack is heavily affected by this. Along with writer's block and the demons of the hotel haunting him Jack has a complete mental breakdown and the situation takes a sinister turn for the worse.
Some of The Shining's scenes made me terrified. There were a lot of scenes that I can remember, such as The Twins in the hallway wanting to play with Danny. Also there was a scene when Jack goes to the bathroom and there is a naked lady in there and Jack makes love with her until she turns into this old lady with green puss coming out of her skin. There was also a scene that disturbed me the most in the Shining and that was when Wendy was going up the stairs and she sees two men in a room performing some sexual content and this one guy was in a bear suit. So I don't know it was fucking weird but, still it creeped me the hell out! There was also the famous Red Rum scene and the Dull Boy scene. Beyond those scenes was also the greatest scene in the whole film and that was where Jack gets a axe and starts chopping down the door and says to Wendy "HERE'S JOHNNY!".
Tbe ending scene for The Shining was absolutely phenomenal. In the end Jack chases Danny through this grass field maze outside while it's snowing out and Danny tricks Jack by disappearing his foot steps in the snow to make Jack run around and get tired. While Danny escapes the maze and leaves with Wendy and they ride away with a snow plower leaving Jack to be trapped in the maze until he passes out and freezes to death.
The Shining won a couple of awards such as 1 win & 5 nominations. It also got #6 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. The Shining is Stanley Kubrick's 2nd Masterpiece!

Don't Look Now (1973)
My Rating: 7.5/10
Don't Look Now is one of those 70s horror movies that leaves you completely confused in the end of the movie. Don't Look Now was directed by Nicolas Roeg. It was Roeg's first ever horror movie directing and he did the film in such a fancy old English type of atmosphere. It also has nice peaceful music in the movie. Also it has strange and freaky music as well. Don't Look Now is about a grieving English couple to Venice, where the past continues to plague them. John Baxter (Donald Sutherland) and his wife Laura (Julie Christie) are in mourning for their young daughter, who drownedtragically near their home. John takes a job in Venice so that the couple can leave the past behind, but, unfortunately, the past is not easily forgotten. While John begins to see unsettling visions of a young girl in a red coat running through the Venice streets, Laura learns from an elderly psychic that her husband is in grave danger. What follows is an eerie, erotic mystery that builds to a shockingly horrific climax.
Don't Look Now had a lot of mysterious and scary scenes in the film such as when the Baxter's daughter Christine drowns herself in a pond and John Baxter pulls her out but, she is already dead. There was also the biggest scene in the whole movie of Don't Look Now and thats when John Baxter chases down a mysterious thing in a light red raincoat. Just like the same red raincoat his daughter wore before she died. Finally when John Baxter reaches up to the mysterious thing in his daughter's raincoat where there in this tower like building but, you don't see what it is because it's back is turned and John Baxter tries to tell it that He won't hurt it and he says come on until finally the thing turns around. It appears to be a dwarf!
Then finally the dwarf pulls out a knife and stabs John in the neck, and John collapses on the floor and dies. It was a brilliant scene to end the entire film!
Don't Look Now won a BAFTA Film Award, and another 8 nominations. It also got #22 for Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. Don't Look Now will always be a masterpiece in the history of Horror Movies!
